And yes! I will be at Sakuracon this year. I decided this last Friday that I was going and I’m damn excited to be there.

I’M SO STOKED FOR SAKURACON.
I found out this last Friday that I was going. Since then I have thrown together 3 different costumes (I have 2 more from last year) and helped a friend with one of hers. I swear, there is some strange cosmic intervention that wants me to go. For the first time ever I’ve found almost all of the supplies I needed for costumes on the first try. There really wasn’t much shopping around, most of the stuff I got was on clearance too!

This year my main cosplay is the human form of Luna from Sailor Moon. My wig needs odango’s made for it and I need to finish sewing the black skirt into the dress (that’s tomorrow’s project) . Other than that the costume is finished. I have all of the accessories completed and sitting on my bed.

My feline companion Matteo also dress up like Luna! Sadly she’ll be staying home this year.

My best friend is going to be Eternal Sailor Moon this weekend. Her boyfriend snubbed his nose at the idea of being Tuxedo Mask (even though he’d be perfect for it), so I might be him for her! I’m putting together a female version of Tuxedo Mask. I’m having problems with finding a white vest that works with my skirt. I worry that if I wear pants it’ll just turn into a crossplay. I have a little black vest that will work in a pinch but I’m a stickler for accuracy.

For the past two years I have cosplayed as Sailor Mercury. I’m throwing it in my bag just in case I decide to break it out. The costume is still in good condition and it still fits well but I think it might need a break this year. This is my Mercury cosplay and my bestie in her Chibi Moon cosplay (the same one who is doing Eternal!):

I whipped up a Togepi dress that I’ll probably wear to the Friday and Saturday all-night dances. Togepi has always been one of my favorite Pokémons, I REALLY don’t know why. I also have a Rocket Grunt costume from last year that I’m bringing. There’s a good chance that I’ll let one of my roommates borrow it since he doesn’t have any costumes.
